Gardner & Co. in Rayleigh, Essex. Principally the firm provides an audit, accountancy and taxation service to small and medium sized businesses. Our team comprises: - Colin trained with a City firm of accountants and subsequently mover to a larger West End firm of accountants and carried out audits on various businesses, including the Cindy Doll division of a large toy company. Colin later moved to a local firm of accountants to gain the Essex flavour of business before stepping out to start his own practice in 1981. Colin deals with the larger clients of the practice and with the more complicated tax matters, as well as overseeing the solicitors clients and several charities. Colin is assisted by an experienced staff of five, who are able to ensure a friendly professional service is provided to all clients. Toni Whitley who recently qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant deals with our solicitor clients, having gained an extensive knowledge of the various accountancy packages designed specifically for the legal profession. Toni also deals with some of our charity clients and until recently was a governor at her local school, majoring on financial matters. Clare Fletcher deals with a broad spread of our clients and heads up the payroll functions for our clients. She also advises on tax credit claims and returns and is attempting to catch up her primary school son at karate. Alison Pierce assists Clare in our payroll section and handles the book keeping functions for clients and produces reports on a weekly basis for a client Pam Oliver is our most recent staff member and has completed an intensive training course on Sage and is proving to be a valuable addition to the team. Sue Youdale-Lee is our secretary, administrator, receptionist and the friendly smile to greet you if you visit the office. She is invaluable at finding things that have been lost or misfiled and when not keeping us all in order is looking after her young grandchildren. The team also consists of two associates who assist us when needed, Peter Kittle and Julie Kennison. We can call them at busy times to ensure a smooth flow of work and to ensure that our clients receive the best service possible.
